BTC’s market share in global perpetual open interest has climbed to 53.4%, the highest since mid-July. Earlier, as optimism around an altseason grew, altcoins captured a larger share, driving BTC’s dominance down to 44.2% on August 24. Following further declines in altcoin prices, widespread liquidations, and position closures, altcoin dominance has contracted further. ETH’s OI market share has decreased to 30.2%, down from 38.6% on August 22 (its highest level in over a year), a 21.8% decline. On October 10, amid sharp price declines, BTC’s share stood at 50.7%, while ETH’s was 31.2%.
