a16z just shared the yearly report for #Crypto:
There are many interesting points worth highlighting:
1/ The memeCoin hype from @solana was more officially started with @pumpdopefun since March 2024, just 1.5 years ago (but feels like a decade long).
2/ "Search Interest" remains low on Google Search, as major retail users haven't joined yet.
3/ The @TON_Blockchain reached peak hype in September 2024, but users transitioned to #SOL, #BASE, and #SUI later on. Subsequent strategic missteps and resource misallocation led to a decline in users.
