I belive if Cardano wants to grow its ecosystem, it needs a way to attract users and liquidity directly from Ethereum and Solana. So, the most critical piece of infrastructure for making that happen is cross chain bridges. this is arguably the most important integration in the entire Cardano Critical Integrations Budget. from a builder’s perspective, the onboarding funnel basically collapses at the first step. If users from Ethereum or Solana want to try a Cardano dApp, they currently have to: 1. send their assets from their ETH/SOL wallet to a CEX, 2. swap into ADA, 3. withdraw to a Cardano wallet. It’s a terrible UX. meanwhile, moving assets between Ethereum and Solana is already smooth and straightforward thanks to mature cross chain bridge infrastructure. No CEX needed, just a click inside a wallet or dApp. If Cardano wants to bring those users in, we need a simple, safe, one-click way for them to move assets into the ecosystem. Ideally, users should be able to swap ETH or SOL directly into Cardano assets without ever touching a CEX. That’s the kind of onboarding UX that actually works. That’s why I see cross-chain bridges as a core enabler of accessibility. Even the success of tier 1 stablecoin integrations will rely heavily on having strong cross chain infrastructure underneath. I truly hope a meaningful part of this governance budget goes toward building a secure, production-grade cross-chain bridge, because that’s what will open the door for real liquidity and real users to enter Cardano.
