Last week was interesting. If there was a theme it would have been 'tough love' Funnily enough it's similar to how we started helping community members get better. Moving from pure support (which is very helpful to get from 0-1) to tough love (to get from 1-100) Sometimes when a member sends you 17 hand drawn pictures of a purple pepe in dms you default to "this is great, keep going" (pure support, 0-1) when you really need to say "you gotta lock in twin this is prob not going to get you anywhere, how bout doing XYZ, have you thought about ABC" The apps are already in a great spot (they've gone 0 to 1) but tough love is already how we communicate internally as team members, with community, and personally with people we care about, so it's a natural step to ramp it up for the apps to help them all get to the breakthrough level. This constructive honesty is a two way street though, and if we give it out, you need to give it right back. Pure & blind support is helpful in the beginning, but tough love is how we get where we need to go.
