About BTCETHETFOutflows
US spot BTC and ETH ETFs lost $679M and $542M from Oct 5–9, totaling $1.221B. BTC ended three weeks of inflows; ETH saw its biggest weekly outflow since January and nine straight outflow sessions. BTC briefly rebounded despite outflows. Ahead of US CPI, is this a temporary shift amid macro uncertainty or weaker demand for crypto exposure? Sustained inflows and whether BTC and ETH prices realign with ETF flows will help gauge institutional demand.

#Why is BTC still under pressure despite continuous institutional positioning?
Institutions keep positioning, but BTC remains under pressure?
Institutions are buying, but short-term price is determined by marginal selling pressure.
Strategy purchased another 334 BTC, bringing total holdings to 848,000 BTC. However, in the first week of October, Bitcoin ETFs saw a net outflow of $679 million, completely reversing the previous week's net inflow of $241 million. On October 7 alone, $485 million

Not every crypto asset is about chasing fast pumps.
XAUT is a gold-backed token designed to track the value of physical gold. That makes gold prices, the US dollar, and interest-rate expectations important factors to watch.
If gold strengthens, XAUT may benefit. If gold pulls back, the token can feel that pressure too.
Keep in mind that token prices can also be affected by liquidity, trading spreads, and platform conditions.
Understand what you're holding before making a move.
Solana ETFs recorded approximately $24.8 million in net outflows last week, ending a 14-week streak of inflows.
That's a notable change in fund flows.
But it doesn't tell us everything about SOL's price, network activity or broader demand.
The next thing I'd watch is whether outflows continue or begin to stabilise.
A change in direction matters. Confirmation matters more.
Bitcoin is facing a test of conviction.
ETF outflows can add selling pressure, but they don't tell the whole story. I’m also watching Treasury yields, the dollar, and whether buyers step in during weakness.
A red day is not automatically a trend reversal—and an ETF inflow isn't automatically a bull signal.
What would convince you that Bitcoin's next move is sustainable: stronger ETF flows or improving macro conditions?

THE ETF QUESTION FOR ETH INVESTORS 👀
Can Ethereum regain stronger institutional demand?
Recent ETF outflows show why fund-flow data deserves attention.
Sustained inflows could improve sentiment, while continued outflows may remain a headwind.
The next flow reports could be important.

Bitcoin spot 82,710, down 1.27% on the day. The interesting part is that the tape underneath doesn't look like straightforward distribution.
ETF flows. The most recent print is a flat zero — that's a data gap, not neutral positioning, so don't read it as balance. The signal is in the prior sessions: -484.9M and -244.1M on consecutive days, -589.1M over five days. Institutional money did retreat, but the exit happened early in the week. The last two sessions were +21.1M and zero. The bleeding stopped.
Derivatives. Open interest 51.82B, up 0.97% while price fell 1.27%. Positions grew into the decline, so this wasn't pure unwinding — new size came in. Funding at +0.2778% looks elevated in isolation but sits at a z-score of -0.18, essentially its own historical average. Not a crowding signal. The one soft spot is positioning: long/short at 60.9/39.1.
Exchange flows. Net +751 BTC in, roughly $62M. Directionally bearish, but zero large transfers and no standout single move. That's scattered chips consolidating, not whales repositioning, and $62M against a $51.82B futures book barely prices.
Liquidations. $113.9M total, $98.8M of it longs — 87%. The dominant cluster was $31.84M of long liquidations inside four hours. Combined with the 60.9% long skew, this was a one-sided squeeze, not a two-way flush.
On-chain. Transfer value proxy $6.53B, up 42.7%. Treat the absolute number with suspicion — it includes change outputs and internal exchange movement — but the direction is clear. Meanwhile the mempool holds 84,996 transactions at 1 sat/vB. No congestion. Value per transfer grew, not transfer count, which fits the consolidation reading.
Order book. Ask-heavy on resting size, 100.4M offered against 88.8M bid, including a 1,210 BTC sell wall. But taker flow over the last hour was net +21.18% (7,859 buy vs 5,112 sell) with large orders net +13.3%. The wall is being eaten, not holding.
The apparent contradiction is a timescale difference. The 24h drop came from leveraged longs being liquidated; the absorption is from the most recent hour. Leverage got cleared, spot stepped in late.
Caveat: one hour is a short window. A single +21% taker imbalance can be wash activity.
Falsification: if the 1,210 BTC wall stays untouched, taker flow turns net negative, and exchange inflows grow past 751 BTC with large transfers appearing, this absorption was a trap inside a continuation — and 60.9% long skew leaves room for a second liquidation wave.
No view on ETF direction or liquidation price levels this cycle. $BTC

btc's latest drop came with forced selling while cash demand was already weak. in the 24h to october 13, tracked exchanges liquidated $485m of positions, $434m of them longs. before that, spot trading turned seller-led, and u.s. bitcoin etfs lost $678.9m over october 5-9. estimates put the average etf buyer's cost at $84,340, and about 1.45m btc was bought at $84,000-86,500. if price returns there, those holders can exit near breakeven, so that zone can bring more selling.
