Arweave's pitch is simple on paper: pay once, store data permanently. The whole model leans on an endowment that has to keep covering storage costs for decades, which works while hardware keeps getting cheaper. It gets harder to defend if that trend stalls. Permanence sounds great, but who is actually paying for it today?
