Netflix reports Q3 on Oct 20 (after US close). Everyone's asking "beat or miss?" Wrong question.
What actually moves the stock:
Ads are the real test. Q2 ad revenue ($618M) missed consensus by 7.2%. Q3 estimates sit around $834M, a ~35% jump quarter-over-quarter. The $3B full-year target is still on the line.
33.2% margin vs 28.2% looks like +5pts, but the base is soft. Last year's Q3 was a low bar, and Q2 margin actually fell YoY (33.4% vs 34.1%).
