$BTC $XAU — Were We Misled by Last Night’s PCE Data?
The market may have misread yesterday’s PCE data.
The U.S. Department of Commerce reportedly changed the statistical methodology behind several key PCE indicators, which significantly affected the reported numbers.
For example, July’s expected reading was 3.3%, but under the revised methodology, the reported figure came in at 3.0% — a 30bp difference.
