USDC as gas is the design choice. Settlement demand is the test.
Circle's Arc public mainnet gives the issuer a route deeper into financial infrastructure. My read: the stronger moat would come from recurring payment and institutional flows, not the gas mechanism itself. If those flows fail to materialize, the expansion may remain a launch narrative.
