About BlockchainQuantumSecurity
AI-assisted math research may expose weaknesses in some proposed cryptography, while future quantum computers could threaten BTC and ETH signatures. No practical break of these signatures has been shown. NIST has issued post-quantum standards, and a US Energy Department quantum contest offers up to $215M in planned funding. Ethereum and Bitcoin developers are exploring upgrades; Coinbase has outlined key-management work. How can networks plan safe wallet migration and protect older addresses?

Quantum risk is not an emergency trade signal: the source says no practical break of BTC or ETH signatures has been shown. The harder issue is operational. Post-quantum standards and upgrade research matter only if wallet migration can reach older addresses without turning key management into a new failure point. Preparedness should be measured by migration paths, not headlines.

Optimistic people tend to be long innovation, and typically, the optimists usually win. Right now, those same optimists look at bitcoin, a technology that has remained relatively unchanged since its launch in January 2009, and it boggles their minds how something so old, so rigid, so static, can continue to stay relevant and undisrupted during this era of rapid technological change. It’s so difficult for them to accept the possibility that Satoshi may have gotten all the rigid fundamental pillars in bitcoin right in 2009, whilst leaving enough flexibility in the protocol for us to adapt to new paradigms if needed. Many of these tech optimists have skin in the game. They’ve positioned themselves by investing in startups and shitcoins they believe will eventually obsolete bitcoin. That’s ultimately the common theme connecting this latest “AI will break cryptography” FUD, quantum computing FUD, and the older “flippening” narratives. I’ve been called a “luddite” for over a decade for not buying into Peercoin, Ethereum, Tezos, EOS, or running a Dash masternode. I’m used to it. Now I’m leaning into it. I’m a bitcoin luddite. My long position in bitcoin is an indirect short on your AI startups and quantum startups ability to break bitcoin. It’s a bet that P will continue not to equal NP. I dare you to steal the coins out of my address. If you think you can, then do it. Fight me bitch.

Breaking news: Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has just issued a major warning, stating that artificial intelligence may crack #BITCOIN cryptography
"ECDSA may fail faster than expected"
"AI-driven mathematics will bring serious impact in the next 2 years"
He urges developers to prepare for a world where "today's keys are no longer secure"

if ai breaks the signatures crypto runs on, the only chain still running is bitcoin.
@0xdoug on @notthreadguy, oct 9, on justin drake's bunker mode post:
"his point was bunker mode, and you should move all your assets into an address that's never been used before."
"every time you use it, move everything to a virgin address and just keep doing it. that seems pretty extreme. i don't know if we have to worry about that quite today."
"if signatures are broken, like pretty much every proof of stake blockchain is like, even if your coins are safe, like ethereum relies on signatures from the validators... the only chain that would actually be running is actually bitcoin because it's proof of work and that relies on hashing, not signatures."

Bitcoin was built for the future.
But what happens when the future brings technology we haven't fully prepared for?
AI is accelerating. Quantum computing is advancing. And @1096361BTC remains tied to one of Bitcoin's greatest mysteries.
Maybe there's no immediate threat.
But the smartest time to discuss a risk is before it becomes one.
That's the conversation MemeBitcoin wants to spread.

Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake warned that AI could find a way to break ECDSA before Q-Day, with a worst-case timeline of months. There is currently no evidence AI has broken the algorithm. Drake suggested considering transfers to addresses that have never sent transactions to limit public-key exposure. The warning describes a potential risk, not a confirmed attack.
