If the Ethereum community wants to reverse this trend it needs to support great builders building apps.
1. Hackathons are generally not for serious builders. They rarely produce good products. Ethereum has severely over-indexed on hackathons. Crypto as an industry has. No other industry has so many hackathons. The best AI products didn't come out of hackathons. $5k prizes don't fund world-changing companies.
2. Direct more funding to accelerators, incubators, ecosystem venture funds and growth funds. Stop investing primarily in research. You are losing young builders to other chains and industries like AI. If you don't attract young talented builders, you will die. It's that simple.
3. Scale the L1 and fix L2 composability. This is already underway and insanely complicated but decades of evidence from Web2 apps tells us that users hate friction. UI and onboarding has to be stupidly simple. 99 times out of 100, a user will choose the app of least resistance. This is particularly true of younger generations with declining attention spans.
