PANews reported on May 29 that according to the SEC's official announcement, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) crypto working group announced that it would hold a roundtable on "DeFi and the Spirit of America" at its headquarters in Washington on June 9. The event will be livestreamed live with panel discussions and a Q&A session with the public. Officials attending the meeting included: SEC Chairman Paul S. Atkins; Richard B. Gabbert, chief assistant for cryptographic affairs, Caroline A. Crenshaw, SEC commissioner Mark T. Uyeda, SEC commissioner, and Hester M. Peirce, SEC commissioner.

Panelists include: Rebecca Rettig from Jito Labs, Paredes Strategies, Jill Gunter from Espresso Systems, Michael Jordan from DBA, Michael Mosier from Arktouros, Gabe Shapiro from MetaLeX, and Erik from Venice AI Voorhees, Kevin Werbach, Wharton.
