How do I add a custom remote procedure call (RPC) to the OKX Wallet?

RPC stands for remote procedure call, which is a protocol that lets your OKX Wallet communicate with a specific blockchain network. By adding a custom RPC, you can manually connect to different networks (like a testnet or a custom EVM-compatible chain) that aren’t preloaded in the wallet. This is especially useful for developers or users exploring new or lesser-known chains.

Custom RPCs allow you to manually connect your OKX Web3 Wallet to a blockchain network that isn’t supported by default. This is useful for accessing testnets, niche EVM-compatible chains, or private networks.Follow the steps below to add a custom RPC to the OKX Wallet (Web or Extension):

On the app:

  1. Load your OKX Web3 Wallet App

  2. Tap the network dropdown at the top of the wallet screen

  3. Select Custom or Add network

  4. Enter the same details as above

  5. Tap Confirm or Save

On the web extension:

  1. Log in to the OKX Wallet

  2. Select the network selector. It’s typically shown at the top of your wallet interface (for example, Ethereum, BNB Chain).

  3. Select Add network

  4. Enter the network details, as below:

    • Network name: name the network (for example, "My Testnet").

    • New RPC URL: the custom RPC endpoint (must be a valid HTTPS address).

    • Chain ID: unique identifier for the network (for example, 137 for Polygon).

    • Currency symbol (optional): like ETH, BNB, and more.

    • Block explorer URL (optional): for viewing transactions (for example, https://polygonscan.com).

  5. Select Save or Add. Your custom RPC network will now be available on the network list.

Note:

  • Make sure the RPC URL you’re using is from a trusted source.

  • Incorrect Chain IDs or RPC endpoints may prevent the wallet from functioning properly on that network.

  • Custom RPC networks can be edited or removed later in the network settings.

If you encounter issues or you're unsure about the RPC info, check the official documentation of the network you're trying to add, or reach out to our support team.
