lol how can you be this clueless as the ceo of etherfi being "delta neutral" doesn't mean they don't take risk just not directional risk in assets. housing crisis was literally them buying subprime mortgages with bank deposits, in the last few years they were buying long duration treasuries that they have to unwind at a loss when a bankrun happens. in addition, if tether drops below 100%, it doesn't mean they go to zero, by any means, infact if both btc and gold literally went to zero they would still be at like 80-85% backing and would have to see mass redeptions for it to even matter, along with the fact that they can likely just make a call and raise the difference considering they are literally the most profitable and leanest operation in crypto
People comparing Tether treasury to fractional reserve banking. Fucking idiots. Banks are “delta neutral.” They don’t take customer funds and invest in volatile assets. They write collateralized loans and invest in bonds. If Tether backing drops below 100% they are insolvent and will go to zero, taking down all of crypto with them.
