I recommend this EigenCloud report from Delphi; the research level of the experienced driver is very impressive, clearly explaining how to solve the off-chain verifiability problem.
If some tasks must be performed off-chain, then the verifiability, composability, and accountability of the results require a set of services, which Delphi calls "The Verifiable Cloud."
First and foremost, for those scenarios that involve massive computations unsuitable for on-chain processing, while having extremely high correctness requirements (for example, the cost of running AI or other resource-intensive workloads on the blockchain is prohibitively high, forcing these applications to perform off-chain computations), EigenCloud provides the most direct solution.
Crypto's application layer is too narrow. The current stack lacks programmability and blockchains can't handle the compute modern apps need.
@EigenLayer just launched EigenCloud to solve this with verifiable compute at cloud scale.
