Pretty obvious by now that ETH will be the reserve currency of the on-chain economy.
In every regard, it's better than BTC:
- ETH is real-yielding 2.2% right now (long-term likely 4%+ when activity picks up, can be juiced with EigenCloud restaking), BTC 0%
- Lower inflation than BTC: ETH 0.7% right now vs. 0.8% BTC; with more activity, likely 1% deflationary
- Most permissionless collateral for DeFi since it's native to the ETH ecosystem, BTC needs bridging / introducing counterparty risks
- Similar liquidity to BTC, long-term likely much more
Not speaking of the issue that BTC will likely move onto Ethereum due to long-term security issues (fees not compensating for declining block rewards).
Endgame is ETH.
