BOB Network: Building Beyond Phase 1
@build_on_bob has been live for over a year, but it is still in its early stages of development. So far, the team has completed Phase 1 and is actively progressing toward Phase 2.
Phase 1 Highlights:
- Built as a rollup on OP Stack, directly connected to Ethereum.
- The sequencer aggregates all transactions into batches and submits them to Ethereum.
- Uses Ethereum blobs for data availability, making BOB a native rollup without relying on third-party DA providers like Celestia or EigenDA.
But that’s only part of the tech stack.
The team has also developed Kailua, a custom zk-tech solution that reduces finality from 7 days to just a few hours - solving one of the biggest limitations of OP Stack’s slow finality.
It makes BOB the hybrid rollup.
Even in Phase 1, BOB is already demonstrating strong technical concepts and a clear vision for building a highly secure network.
Next, the project will advance into Phase 2, which promises to be even more innovative with the implementation of BitVM.
