everyone is forming an opinion about glamsterdam EIP’s, but almost no one understands the technical implications of each proposal
here is a direct comparison of the headliner EIP’s along the dimensions that matter:

there are 5 main candidates for what should be the focus of glamsterdam: BAL’s, ePBS, DE, FOCIL, and 6s slot times
the other EIP’s are not serious contenders for headliner status
the main things to pay attention to for each EIP:
1. how difficult would it be to implement?
2. what are the scaling benefits?
3. what are the inclusion time benefits?
here is the comparison I compiled after questioning each of the EIP authors about their proposals
they had semi-contradictory opinions. the numbers are a best effort integration of their opinions

executive summary of each EIP:
EIP-7928: BAL’s = block access lists
enables parallel processing of each block when combined with a cap on max tx size (EIP-7825)
the benefits of parallelism might not be ready until later on after glamsterdam
EIP-7732: ePBS = enshrined proposer builder separation
restructures the slot to reduce deadtime and extend the propagation and execution windows
it’s possible ePBS might increase inclusion time (which is bad), although this is heavily disputed and depends on builder behavior
EIP-7886: DE = delayed execution
also extends the propagation and execution windows
mutually exclusive with ePBS, but more focused on the execution than consensus
EIP-7805: FOCIL = fork-choice inclusion lists
adds more proposers during each slot to improve censorship resistance of the network
would reduce inclusion time of censored txs and also reduce the dependence on home stakers for censorship resistance
EIP-7782: 6 slot times
cuts the block time in half. This would improve UX, interop, and MEV.
An additional unexpected benefit is that shortened slot times could improve scaling by reducing the dead time in each slot.
thank you @nero_eth, @potuz_eth, @soispoke, @barnabemonnot, and @ben_a_adams for sharing their feedback
again, the numbers in the matrix are my opinion after listening to their opinions. if you want their opinions you should ask them directly. also DYOR
