🧵 Bitcoin core developer @peterktodd reiterates: The default transaction fee rate limit of 1 sat/vB is severely outdated for the current BTC market environment! 📊 In block 904,864, a large number of low-fee batched transactions failed to relay, significantly slowing down block reconstruction and propagation speed, affecting network efficiency. The root of the problem: when the 1 sat/vB was set, the price of Bitcoin was much lower than it is now. As the price of BTC has risen, this fee threshold has become unreasonable. 🔧 Peter Todd states that he will use Libre Relay as a testing ground, and if successful, he will submit a PR to Bitcoin Core to promote updates and optimizations to the relaying strategy, allowing the network to better adapt to the current market environment.
