This is a great iteration by @helenaeverley on something we experimented with 8 years ago when I helped fund @CryptoKitties and @dapperlabs who pioneered the digital asset / Non fungible token segment. We launched the world’s first “ocean conservation specific NFT” with Sir Richard Branson at our Blockchain Summit. I could see how Helena might crack the code on something that has the possibility of getting communities to help dozens, possibly hundreds of small cause based non-profits everywhere around the world. It’s still early days of course and we’re all learning as we go. Thank you all for supporting us in this process. Here’s what we did years ago:

$REEFS is going to change the way non-profits fundraise…
It’s the first token that donates to a non-profit via a 1% Trading Fee.
This means no matter if the price goes up or down, the non-profit earns.
Crypto has been overtaken by traders that buy and sell random coins - e.g. DOGE coin is now at 33B market cap and had 1.26B volume in the last 24 hours.
Imagine $DOGE had a 1% trading fee that donated to a dog charity → that’d be $10M+ donated EVERY 24 HOURS!
And… that’s $3.65B a year to save the dogs!
We must steer crypto for good. And what better way is there, than to take something the community already loves to do - trading - and converting that into support for non-profits.
We have crypto legends supporting us, including Bill Tai @KiteVC (investor in Canva, BitFury, Dapper Labs, Zoom, Crypto Kitties) and @amandaterry (Co-Founder of @OnChainMonkey)
Lastly… I want to acknowledge running a non-profit is EXTREMELY difficult - 92% of non-profits operate with less than $1 million a year.
That means we just need to have 0.022% the yearly trading volume of $DOGE to fundraise an extra $1M a year for this non-profit to save the ocean.
