The biggest lesson I have learned in 2025 — Time has changed
I'm almost sure that we will never see again a general alt season like the one of 2020, where *EVERYTHING* was pumping without any reason.
As of today, the space is filled with millions of coins/tokens, the attention market is the most competitive ever (see Cookie and Kaito) and most of the retail have lost a lot of money and they will not do the same mistake again.
Back in 2020 we had a really unique situation:
- very few coins/tokens
- one single main narrative (DeFi)
- an infinite number of *NEW* rich and bored (because of the covid) retails looking to spend their money with the dream of becoming rich overnight.
I think that we don't realize how unique was this situation and I think is very unlikely that we will see that again.
This is the reason why in 2025 (and also in 2026 IMO) we have *NOT* seen a general alt season and most of the vaporwave alts are at their all-time-lows.
The lesson here is simple, buy less coins/tokens, but use more DeFi products, which are definitely better than TradFi. (AAVE > Banks, Stablecoin Agents > Interest account, EtherFI > Smart Bank and so on...)
