What's up @leviathan_news community
This is my $SQUID June allocation perspective - if you're voting, feel free to take this into consideration
Exciting actually to try a pilot for the CUTTLE system by @CurveCap for the first time!
Let us know what you think and share any kind of feedback. My feeling is we’re starting a journey towards a much fairer and transparent distribution of $SQUID rewards.
From my perspective, the most important aspect to reward is participation. We want to consistently have contributors of various kinds submitting all kinds of contributions from all aspects and departments of the DAO, whether existing ones or ones who will hopefully be added. So much to do and where to grow to - yet this can only be done if new participants always feel they have a way to earn fairly, and that not all distribution goes to long-term contributors. Rather than metrics of outcome, which I understand why matter the most in normal companies and businesses, with our vision of getting the community owning and running the news curation and media production - the proper way to do this is first and foremost to get people involved.
It is about metrics actually when I think about it - the number one metric I care about and I think we all should care about is participation, and its combination of quality and quantity.
I believe the voters will vote according to what they actually think is a fair distribution which is in favor of everyone and the DAO itself, and not according to any other reason. If they do vote for other reasons - this experiment will not work anyway in the long run, and it doesn’t matter anyway.
Culture and community are the most important aspect to establish and grow our vision of decentralized crypto media.
My recommendation for voters to vote on the remaining 500K $SQUID for June 2025 is as such -
News - 200K (40% of voting weight for this round) - our most important and consistent department, for which we need to onboard as many quality participants as possible!
Devs - 150K (30% of voting weight for this round) - great job on the website guys!
Content
Substack - 50K (10% of voting weight this round)
Shows - 100K (20% of voting weight this round), divided like this:
8 shows on June - each should imo get 12,500 SQUID.
@CurveCap - 4 shows - 50K SQUID (10% of voting weight this round)
@ssmccul - 3 shows - 37,500 SQUID (7.5% of voting weight this round)
@DAdvisoor - 1 show - 12,500 SQUID (2.5% of voting weight this round)
Personally, it was good for me to come back to streaming in June after a long while, it was fun!
Check out the episode if you haven’t yet - it’s with the @eth_milano guys before their conference there. I actually wanna start covering a lot of European DeFi and conferences there hopefully.
For this allocation, I will divide my show allocation with my guests on the show, so each of us will get 2,500 SQUID - I will send them the funds myself after receiving the allocation.
Btw, I will not necessarily always split the rewards for the show with the guests equally in the future. I humbly ask the DAO’s trust to distribute funds to my guests myself. I actually think this can create a direct interaction with them that will increase chances of them starting to participate in our activities in the future, which as I’ve mentioned earlier, is imo the most important thing to make sure.
Also - feel free to go through this post for some additional perspective
Thanks for voting!
