NFTs really need royalties back for the productive items (not art such as Punks but projects with a roadmap and business to develop). In the real world, big brands and artists are protected and get huge royalties for usage. In the NFT world, both users and platforms should agree to pay royalties if the project wants to collect them. It’s a free market: some projects might ask for royalties, some not, some will adjust. But we have to play by the rules and stop dodging… Otherwise, Doodles, BAYC, and all our beloved projects will end up like RTFKT Clone X. Development and teams have a cost, so projects need revenues. Otherwise, if they don’t collect royalties, they’ll find worse ways to make revenues: more dilution, bad merch, etc.
