Those who previously used USDC to cross-chain into BOB should remember that bridging: slow, laggy, and for me, the slippage was high; my USDC hasn't even crossed out yet!
Now it's finally changed — USDC on BOB has officially upgraded to the Chainlink CCIP standard.
The old bridge USDC.e will migrate to CCIP, and the new protocol is faster, more stable, and causes almost zero disruption to users: wallet balances remain unchanged, contract addresses remain unchanged, and DeFi is unaffected.
The old bridge will be disabled on June 4th, with migration expected to take <24 hours. During this time, cross-chain USDC will not be possible, but after that, all cross-chain transactions will use CCIP, providing a top-notch experience with the new bridge and laying a solid foundation for future support of native USDC minting.
