Solana did a smart thing here - something I wish Optimism & Ethereum had done sooner. They embraced every trend and therefore captured the influx of attention and usage that every trend brought. Ethereum could have just as easily embraced the memecoin trend. That doesn't mean totally reinventing the L1. It just means taking more shots on goal, experimenting more. Solana's size today is the result of trying may things over a long period of time. That said, ETH L1 innovation has definitely gotten supercharged this year. It's reinvigorating to see all the hard work from folks at the EF and in the surrounding community. There's definitely some catch-up to do on scaling the L1 itself, but Ethereum's moat is huge and is still in pole position. Let's pick up the pace!
