if the product is actually good, you'll get a community too but since most teams are here to cash grab, why do we expect users to act any different? lmao hyperliquid farmers never leaved, the product was too good and rewarding them created another layer of loyalty InfoFi leaderboards will also attract pure farmers, but good products will keep some of them as loyal users I would've never know about Katana without their leaderboard, and now I keep most of my stables there a boring 'web3' game or the 100th Layer 2 launched this year won't do that it's just not good enough to keep people interested
airdrops farmers are absolutely useless there's NO value in inflating your protocol metrics (so you can raise more money) and there's absolutely NOTHING to learn from random wallets stress testing your systems all day they should be getting 0 what could've possibly made them expect a reward? no way did teams engineered that behavior, right? and no way the successful airdrops like Arbitrum (and many others), *naturally* built those expectations again and again what if the problem lies in the hands of teams, using this like a carrot on a stick to pump their metrics? funny how MegaETH didn't attract this kind of evil users, I wonder why :)
