Validators just voted to upgrade Stellar Mainnet to Protocol 24, which fixes a bug in the state archival feature.
Tomorrow at 1700 UTC — after 24 hrs observing the upgraded network — they will vote on whether to reenable that feature. Reminder: state archival is a first-of-its kind solution to unbounded state growth, a problem all blockchains face that left untreated drives up costs and throttles scalability.
Like all Stellar network settings changes, the decision to turn it back on lies in the hands of validators.
