The index closed above 7,800 for the first time while long-term Treasury yields stayed near multi-decade highs.
What caught my attention is stocks aren't waiting for cheaper money. AI optimism and earnings expectations are overpowering the usual rate pressure.
If profits keep growing fast enough, high yields may not kill the rally. But they leave far less room for earnings to disappoint.
