US stocks sold off sharply on Nov 5, with semiconductor weakness spreading into the broader market. At the close: • S&P 500: down 4.36% • Nasdaq Composite: down 5.52% • Dow Jones Industrial Average: down 3.44% • Russell 2000: down 4.45% The Nasdaq and Russell 2000 both entered correction territory. All three major US benchmarks posted their worst session since April 2025. SOXX, the iShares Semiconductor ETF, fell more than 12%, its worst session since March 2020. This historical comparison refers to the ETF, not automatically to the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. Nvidia and Broadcom fell about 9% and 10%. Their benchmark weights illustrate an important mechanism: declines in large technology companies can amplify index moves without every constituent falling equally. The pressure was not limited to chips. Nebius and IREN dropped roughly 15% and 17%, reflecting concerns across the AI infrastructure chain. Concerns about potentially tighter rules on AI data center approvals and construction added to uncertainty after the US midterms. These remained policy expectations, not confirmed nationwide restrictions. Financing provides another lens. When assessing infrastructure expansion, demand needs to be considered alongside borrowing costs, capital availability and the timing of returns. Orders, funded projects and recognized revenue are different milestones. BTC also fell below $77,000 during the session. Concurrent declines do not establish a single cause or a permanent relationship between equities and crypto. Key developments to watch: • Confirmed policy decisions and project approvals • AI orders, deployment schedules and financing needs • Cash generation relative to infrastructure spending A sharp selloff changes prices and expectations immediately. Subsequent funding, orders and earnings will help show whether business fundamentals have changed too. #ChipStocksFallOver12%

Semiconductors crashed 12%, with Nvidia down 9% and AMD down 17%. AI infrastructure stocks suffered heavily: CoreWeave -10%, Nebius -15%, as CoreWeave’s credit default spreads hit record highs. UBS estimates 30% of planned US data-center capacity additions in 2028 could be at risk from construction pauses following Democrats’ midterm victory.

S&P 500 Just Erased $2.2 TRILLION In 55 Minutes 🚨 Yesterday's post-election rally? Gone. Today's drop is now 2X the size of yesterday climb And Nasdaq 100 is now ∼6% away from a BEAR market. What this teaches us: 1. Rallies on hope reverse fast on risk-off 2. Stocks + Crypto fall together when liquidity panics 3. Chasing green = getting trapped red $BTC below $77K, $ETH below $2,300, $370M liquidated — same story, all markets. Are you panic-selling, holding? #USJobsReportInFocus

Chips just had one of their worst days ever. The SOX fell 12.25% today, its second-worst day since 1994. Only March 16, 2020 was worse. Fear spiked with it. The VIX jumped 70% from 16.6 to 28.2, its third-biggest one-day jump since 1990. Is this the bottom? Or will the dip keep on dipping?

🚨 THE MIDTERM RALLY JUST TURNED INTO A BLOODBATH 24 hours ago, Wall Street was celebrating. Today, US stocks lost around $3 TRILLION in value. The Nasdaq dropped 5.5% and is now officially in correction territory. The S&P 500 fell more than 4%. The Dow lost 3.4%. Semiconductors got hit the hardest, down more than 12%, their worst day since March 2020. $NVDA -9.3%, $TSLA -10.8%, $AMD and Micron around -15%. Crypto didn't escape either. $BTC fell over 5%, and more than $1 billion in long positions got liquidated in 24 hours. So what happened? The market is now pricing in a slower AI buildout. Democrats who won this week, including Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa, campaigned on limiting new data centers. Texas alone accounts for 27% of planned data center capacity. And most of the 41 local measures to slow data center construction passed. Fewer data centers means less demand for chips. That's why semis crashed first. But let's be clear: nobody is banning AI. These are state and local limits, and any federal restriction would still face Trump's veto. The market is reacting to a headline, not to a law. And historically, selling into political fear has rarely been the winning trade.
