ENS is dead and will eventually be eliminated by time!
A. From a decentralization perspective:
1. .sol and .ton have hundreds of millions of users, and their number is steadily growing!
2. Compared to .ton and .sol, their renewal models are very user-friendly. However, ENS's high renewal fees mean you don't actually own ENS; you're just leasing .ETH! You're just leasing an NFT.
3. Compared to .sol, ENS treats its users with extreme arrogance. They can auction domain names on the registration page, but they don't allow users to list or auction them.
B. From a centralized perspective:
1. In terms of popularity and user scale, .com and .net far surpass ENS.
2. The renewal costs of .com and .net are also better than ENS.
3. From a practical perspective, .com and .net can import ENS and take full advantage of its features. If you don't own ENS but only rent it, then a .com domain is more practical.
C. Disorganized team management, lack of product innovation and brand promotion
Since Brantly's departure, there has been no new innovation or promotion. Excellent Vision trading platforms have all collapsed, and ENS currently lacks even a single good trading platform. ENS has become non-essential, lacking interaction with influencers and users!
In short, whether from a decentralized or centralized perspective, ENS will be eliminated without innovation and a continuous focus on user experience. Hopefully, a new domain name system will emerge on Ethereum to replace ENS. Without competition, there can be no innovation!
