1. The team is reputable, talented and vetted
The Katana team was incubated and supported by @0xPolygon and @GSR_io (Polygon CEO @0xMarcB is repping a Katana pfp), and has partnerships with @SushiSwap, @jito_sol, @chainlink, etc.
Additionally (and perhaps more importantly), I've spoken with multiple friends who have met the team irl and came back with rave reviews. This came across clearly to me after listening to their spaces that run almost daily (@Crypto_Texan, @alexchau, and company).
2. The product is innovative, and the brand is beautiful
Simply put, Katana is chain focused on higher yields and deeper liquidity for better defi experiences. Core mechanisms like vaultbridge and chain-owned liquidity are novel and interesting.
Their blog and website are stunning to look at. Their gradients, fonts, animations, and mascot are all sharp and professional. It's clear that hundreds of hours have been put into this.
3. The incentives
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Only 2M out of 70M KAT tokens have been distributed. Pre-deposits close in 2ish weeks when mainnet launches, and 97% of the tokens are still left to be given out.
Before mainnet launches, all remaining KAT tokens will be given out to pre-depositors based on time + amount deposited. Additionally, you can retrieve your deposited funds once mainnet launches in 2ish weeks if you'd like to.
Conclusion
While all investments carry some risk, I think this one has the potential to be a home run. Even the minimum investment of $150 could go a long way.
