Pixels staking is here with a bunch of interesting mechanics!
• Staking Power Boost: Holding Farm Land NFTs increases your staking power.
• Farmer Fees: When a user wants to withdraw $PIXEL outside of the ecosystem, a fee will apply with the fee variable based on the account's reputation and the fee going back to stakers. Will be an interesting mechanism for hindering automated accounts while also generating additional rewards for stakers
• Two Staking Paths: onchain and in-game. In-game staking requires at least 100 Pixel and active gameplay whereas onchain staking has no minimum and no gameplay requirements.
Coming soon: $vPIXEL, a spend-only version of PIXEL.

Pixels is building a decentralized publishing model powered by staking, where games themselves replace traditional validators. Instead of securing transactions on a blockchain, stakers participate directly in determining which games receive resources and incentives from the Pixels ecosystem.
This is the first step in a multi-phase rollout. Here's what’s coming:
🔹 Phase 1 (Beta): At first, only hand-picked games will be available for staking. Each game will receive a fixed monthly reward allocation, with the majority reserved for Core Pixels. Each game will also decide how much of its rewards go back to stakers.
🔹 Phase 2: Rewards won't be fixed per-game anymore. Instead, the more $PIXEL players stake to a game, the bigger that game’s reward pool becomes.
🔹 Phase 3: The curation aspect of the $PIXEL ecosystem is removed. Any game that hits a minimum activity threshold will be eligible to join the $PIXEL ecosystem.
🔹 Phase 4: As the ecosystem achieves a positive Return On Reward Spend (RORS), Pixels will start supporting more tokens (like USDC) for user acquisition services. $PIXEL will still be required to earn staking rewards.
🔥 PLUS: A spend-only reward token ($vPIXEL) is coming soon!
After staking launches, we’ll soon introduce $vPIXEL, a new spend-only reward token.
$vPIXEL lets you spend without worrying about Farmer Fees, making it easier to keep your adventures (and your earnings) in motion. For example, if you want to withdraw to spend in Pixel Dungeon, you’ll be able to use $vPIXEL and bypass the Farmer Fee.
