In this new world of token creation, we need new metas, and that only comes from real experimentation.
Big shoutout to @pasternak and @believeapp for boldly diving into the DBC system with us: launching, experimenting, and opening up new possibilities for how creators launch and grow their communities.
Ben’s openness to move fast, test unproven ideas, and embrace real-world experimentation has been instrumental, not just in shaping this launch, but in helping us learn what it takes to build better systems for creators.
One bold experiment: using a fee scheduler with a 50% starting fee that decays to 2% over time. It was effective at blocking bots early, but also surfaced important tradeoffs around retail accessibility. We're now actively exploring how to fine-tune starting fees, decay rates, and other parameters to strike the right balance.
We're also working closely with our partners to make sure fee schedules are clearly communicated, no matter what platform a user is trading from.
Why does all this matter? Because every improvement here makes it easier for creators to launch tokens fairly, safely, and with stronger community trust.
And with DAMM v2 coming soon, we’ll make it even easier to set up and split fees across stakeholders by enabling fee claiming in quote tokens like SOL or USDC.
