  • The system will automatically detect and prompt you to create or restore your DEX trading wallet.

  • Passkey is required and it can be set up by navigating through Profile and settings > Security > Passkeys For details, please refer to How do I create passkeys? (app).

2. How do I select a token and trade in CeDeFi trading?

  • Select the DEX token you want to trade from Market or Search, and review its price, market data, and risk notices.

  • Select an order type:
Market order: Buy or sell immediately at the current market quote.
Limit order: Set a target price, and the order will execute when the price is reached.

  • Select the payment token and enter the amount. You can enable TP/SL and set the trigger conditions.

  • On the confirmation page, review the payment amount, estimated amount received, fees, and order details.

  • Use the recommended automatic slippage or set a custom value. A low setting may cause the trade to fail, while a high setting may result in a larger price difference.

  • Enable MEV protection to reduce risks such as front-running and sandwich attacks. Review the details and confirm the trade with your Passkey.

3. How do I check and manage my assets in DEX trading wallet?

  • Once the trade is completed, your tokens will be deposited into your DEX trading wallet.

  • Go to the Assets page to check your holdings and profit/loss, and manage them by selling or transferring at any time.

  • Click [Assets] - [Recent funding history] - [DEX orders] to view your DEX order history

4. How do I use the wallet release feature for my DEX trading wallet? (Optional)

  • If you lose your device or cannot access your Passkey, you can use the wallet release feature to transfer your DEX assets to an Externally Owned Account (EOA) address under your control. After the transfer, your DEX trading account will become permanently inaccessible.

  • Wallet release tools are available on OKX, which ensures that you can retain full control of your assets under any circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the difference between Onchain trading, CeFi spot trading, and futures trading?

These trading methods differ in the assets they support, how orders are executed, and the risks involved:

    • CeFi spot trading: Orders are matched through the exchange order book between buyers and sellers. It mainly supports assets listed on the OKX Spot Market.

    • CeFi futures trading: You trade contracts linked to an asset’s price rather than directly buying or selling on-chain tokens. Futures may involve leverage and carry risks such as insufficient margin and liquidation.

    • Onchain trading: This is designed for trading on-chain assets. Orders are executed through on-chain liquidity pools, automated market makers (AMMs), aggregators, or market-maker quotes using your DEX trading wallet.

DEX quotes and execution results may be affected by on-chain liquidity, order size, slippage, network fees, token taxes, and market volatility. The final price, fees, and amount received are subject to the order confirmation page and actual execution result.

  2. Why is the token used for my deposit different from the token I selected to receive after selling?

Some networks support only a limited range of settlement tokens. In other cases, the token you selected may not have sufficient liquidity on the relevant network. The system may therefore use another token as an intermediate settlement asset. This does not affect the type of token you ultimately receive.

For example, Robinhood Chain supports USDG but does not support USDT. Even if you choose to trade with USDT, the system may first automatically convert USDT to USDG within the exchange and then use USDG for the on-chain transaction. A similar process may apply when selling: the on-chain asset may first be swapped into a token supported for exchange deposits. Once the deposit is credited, it will be automatically converted within the exchange into the token you selected to receive.

  3. Why is the amount I receive different from my order amount?

The following fees may be deducted from the amount you receive:

    • Service fee: Charged at the standard rate of 0.5% of the transaction amount.

    • Network fee (Gas fee): Paid to process the transaction on-chain. The amount varies depending on network congestion and transaction complexity. Right now, you only need to pay gas fee on ETH chain. As for other chains, the network fee is free on DEX in OKX main site.

Some transactions may also involve token taxes, liquidity-pool fees, slippage, or price impact. Before submitting an order, review the estimated fees and amount received on the confirmation page. The final amount is subject to the actual execution result.

  4. How can I use stablecoins such as USDT or USDC to trade SOL, BNB, or other assets listed on the OKX Spot Market?

Onchain trading in CEX only supports eligible on-chain assets. Assets already listed on the OKX Spot Market—including native tokens, stablecoins, and some alt tokens—cannot be searched for or traded through Onchain part in CEX

To buy or sell listed assets such as SOL or BNB using USDT or USDC, go directly to the OKX Spot Market. Available assets and trading pairs are subject to what is displayed on the Spot Market page.

  5. Do I need to hold native tokens before onchain trading in CEX?

A third-party Relayer pays the on-chain Gas fee on your behalf. You can trade directly using supported assets such as USDT or USDC without preparing native tokens such as ETH in advance.

  6. Can I freely deposit or withdraw my onchain assets in CEX

While your DEX wallet is active, direct deposits and withdrawals of DEX assets are restricted. It cannot be used to transfer assets as freely as a standard self-custody wallet.

If you want full control over and the ability to transfer your on-chain assets, you must release your wallet. Once the wallet has been released, you can manage and transfer the assets through a self-custody wallet.

  7. Why can’t I trade on my Android device

Some Android users use Google Passkey. If your VPN is not enabled or your network cannot access Google services, you may be unable to open Passkey and confirm the transaction. Please enable your VPN, make sure Google services are accessible, and try the transaction again. Avoid entering the Recovery process by mistake, as this may delete your existing Passkey.
