Hey guys, I faded before, but what’s going on w @StoryProtocol is really interesting. Ppl have been attracted to web3 gaming due to the idea of in-game asset ownership, which is the same thesis which drew me in. But I’ve been watching Story Protocol’s moves, and tbh maybe the most obvious form of monetizable ownership is the IP of a brand itself. For example, in case you haven’t been paying attention, Story recently made new deals with both Moonbirds and Azuki, in which their IP can be utilized through vibe coded games using @verse_eight or creating custom merch on @ablo_official. To me this represents a step forward in the decentralized possibilities which crypto theoretically provided, but to this point has only found pmf through defi. The IP angle allows for creative monetization and value to flow back to established brands and nft holders. The interesting thing, which I’m watching carefully, is whether STORY can revitalize both the nft & gaming space, would be a HUGE win for the space. I can see $IP used as an asset class toward programmable royalties, tokenization of RWAs such as musical catalogues, & a cryptocurrency for the games & merch created on-chain. So far it’s been a good trade, showing tons of upside, riding a strong narrative.
