Recently came across FHE, fully homomorphic encryption. Simply put: 👉 Data can be computed without decryption, the entire process is encrypted. It sounds amazing, but there are some drawbacks: TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) is indeed fast, but it relies on hardware, and if there’s a vulnerability, it gets awkward. ZK (Zero-Knowledge Proof) can ensure correctness, but it can only prove, making complex calculations quite laborious. FHE: Security is top-notch, but efficiency really lags behind. Imagine the scenario: banks need to do risk control without exposing customer data; hospitals want to compile case statistics without leaking patient privacy; advertisers want precise targeting, but user information needs to be kept hidden. FHE can handle all of that. Zama @zama_fhe has been pushing the ecosystem in this area, and the Concrete library is already usable, supporting Python/JS, and can run both locally and in the cloud. Sure, it’s a bit slow, but compared to exposing privacy,...
