one social metric i like to use for my universe selection and long/short candidates is @_dexuai mindshare ath distance.
this measures how far the current mindshare of a project is from its ath mindshare.
look at perps, we can see that drift, snx, and gmx are very far from their ath. these could be used as short candidates.
on the other hand lighter, aster and avnt are close to their ath mindshare so could be worth exploring them more.
to make this more interesting, you can also combine that with your bias on narratives. so if you are bearish on certain narratives, you can find short candidates there by using this metric and similarly for bullish projects.
a further step could be to combine that with sentiment. but will do a separete post on it.
