Waiting for a verdict is nerve-wracking.
Although the jury system is flawed on so many levels, I trust people to know what's right and what's not.
I trust them/us for seeing through the bullshit we're fed every day with extreme arrogance by people in authority.
Hearing the defense make its case, I was so proud of the technology we've built, crypto and decentralization, zk and privacy, tokens, airdrops, DAOs and governance, the community, the hackathons, the ceremonies, rituals, desire for disintermediation and sovereignty, the memes.
It is difficult sometimes to step back and look at crypto from a distance
Hearing it dissected and explained to extreme novices made me appreciate it again
Crypto is a big beautiful place and I'm sure many in this tribunal got crypto pilled over the past three weeks :))
Even hearing from hackers that the prosecution brought to testify. The frosties rug pull 20 smth y.o. guy: I wish you a bright future, you fooled around and found out, you're smart and if I get rug pulled, I rather it be done by you tbh.
To the crema hacker who showed up with a telling body language, you used TC to pay for the gas to exploit some math flaws you found in the dex
You're smart and I'm sorry code is not law, that deep crypto degen highly technically expert gamblers are protected over exploiters.
To the Axie Infinity guy: you messed up everything because Ronin was centralized but pretending as if it wasn't.
That's morally worse than what the hackers did above; it's web2 behavior, extractive and lame to try to hold an actual decentralized tech developer responsible for your mistake.
To Ms Lin, I'm sorry that you work all your life as good members of society but all you're left with are little savings, that the prospect of growing your savings to have better lives clouded your judgment: capitalism and exploitation of labor clouded your judgment.
To all those showing up in court to testify for the defense and had to go through aggressive cross examinations
To github and infura: you got paid for TC to function, how is that not getting rich out of the hacks? Github is spyware btw
To all the privacy tips we got, maybe that's my next video?...
To Roman who had to plead for money leading up to and during his trial to pay for his defense
Roman who watched for three weeks and the jury who didn't hear his voice once
To the jury who showed up, every day, and sat there through the boring bits and the short lunch breaks and was watched by everyone.
To the defense lawyers who beat exhaustion and put together a case, that climaxed during that beautifully written and masterfully delivered closing statement
To the prosecution for being so committed and excellent at your jobs. Hope you get hired in crypto privacy private sector
To the person standing outside the court in peak heat and sun holding a free roman sign
To the others who joined her, to the journalists, the security guards who were rooting for Roman
To me who missed her criminal defence lawyering days
To all of you who follow the case 🏛💚
