As I expected, Kaito @KaitoAI has finally welcomed a major version update.
To summarize in one sentence: it's good for real builders, beneficial for high-quality non-ICT users, and AI accounts may exit the historical stage.
This is also the reason we have always insisted on real original content and rejected AI-generated content. I’ve picked a few key points to help everyone interpret the new "version answers."
First, before we start, let’s give a thumbs up to @Punk9277. Boss Yu Hu honestly admitted that the previous mechanism brought noise, low-quality content, and negative factors due to overemphasis on rewards, resulting in some rankings being inverted. This attracted many low-quality participants, leading high-quality content creators to start rejecting "mouth farming."
To be honest, as a founder, having this attitude to acknowledge past issues surpasses many peers. This isn’t flattery; it relies on the support of colleagues.
🌟 The core update this time: the introduction of the gKAITO mechanism.
gKAITO is built around five pillars: thought leadership, attention, participation, ownership, and culture.
Here are my personal key interpretations:
❶ Introduction of a reputation threshold: based on Yaps/Smart Followers/CT mental share, ensuring real account rankings and preventing AI bots. Focus on signal quality rather than sheer volume.
Interpretation: According to this formula, the Yap score directly affects rankings. Simply put, having more smart followers isn’t necessarily a good thing, as it means your corresponding Yap score must be higher. To be honest, I started feeling creative pressure when I wrote this down.
So, this is directly beneficial for small and medium accounts, i.e., non-ICT users.
❷ Highlighting consistent and loyal contributions: special area rewards for long-term, high-quality participants.
Personal interpretation: Previous projects didn’t have loyalty as a concept; one person could participate in multiple rankings simultaneously, which isn’t good for each project. Because it doesn’t necessarily mean they recognize the project or want to promote its development.
So, those who "mouth farm" multiple projects should take note. Do your preliminary research, prioritize, and choose quality over quantity.
❸ Emphasizing alignment of interests rather than pure rewards: building a retrospective, milestone-based reward culture driven by return on investment (ROI) to foster genuine interest.
Personal interpretation: My understanding is that you need to learn to do investment research! In other words, your project selection will be validated by ROI, and there are many projects on the rankings, plus the loyalty test mentioned earlier.
You need to learn to find projects you believe in and track them long-term to ultimately prove results.
❹ Improving the global reduction mechanism: combating misinformation, inflated participation, group volume inflation, and AI errors.
Personal interpretation: This mechanism clearly states the intention to combat AI and misinformation, but the details of how this will be implemented have not yet been disclosed, so I will maintain a neutral stance on this.
Overall, as a user holding NFTs and staking over 10,000 $KAITO, I am very satisfied with this update and look forward to it, but I also feel the pressure to maintain high-quality creation.
But remember one principle: don’t just listen to what they say; watch what they do.
Kaito is undoubtedly a phenomenal product in the Web3 space over the past six months, but don’t forget that Kaito has only transitioned from an AI search engine to a content distribution platform in just seven months, so each update will certainly go through a process of market adaptation, trial and error, and iteration.
However, I still maintain my expectations. What about you?
