Wow... I just got off the phone with a Steak 'n Shake franchise owner and asked him some questions about the bitcoin payments rollout. This is, unfortunately, all true.
I told him I was interested in the bitcoin payments rollout and asked him if they were going to be accepting bitcoin for food. After a long hesitation, he said, "I guess".
I asked him if they are going to be using a separate PoS system for it or if it will be integrated into their standard PoS. He said it will be separate. Then he asked me who I was "with". I told him I'm not with anyone but that I was just an excited new customer. I told him that I have a lot of friends who will be coming to Steak 'n Shake because of Bitcoin.
Then he said... and I quote... "That's unfortunate. I hope you don't." In complete shock, I asked why not?
He said I'd rather not be associated with Bitcoin.
I told him Bitcoin brought me to you, and we will be bringing you a lot of business.
Then he just said again, "That's unfortunate. I hope you don't".
This was the OWNER of the franchise. He literally told me he does not want my business.
If anyone is curious, his name is Jorge, and the location was 4203 Wisconsin Ave, Sedalia, MO 65301.
Give Jorge a call and let him know you are looking forward to buying some Beef Tallow Fries with Bitcoin: +1 660 851 2264.
