What makes this worth paying attention to is the revenue opportunity.
Pump's mobile app has already generated approximately $4.46M in protocol revenue in October, compared with $3.73M in September, according to DefiLlama. That figure covers the mobile app's broader activity, not perps alone. DefiLlama +1
If perp adoption continues at this pace, it could become another meaningful revenue stream for Pump, particularly as the platform expands beyond its original memecoin trading audience.
Pump users are starting to find another way to stay active while on-chain trading activity remains relatively slow.
Perps seem to be picking up the slack.
On October 29, Pump App recorded over $50M in perpetual trading volume, roughly 5x its previous record. Daily active perp traders also crossed 1,000 for the first time, accounting for around 1.5% of the platform's daily users.
That is a notable shift in user activity, especially as speculative on-chain trading cools down.
