Gravity Reth is here 🌀 The fastest open-source EVM execution layer ever built. 41,000 TPS and 1.5 gigagas per second Built by the team at @Galxe and engineered to meet the performance needs of today’s most demanding apps:
In EVM ecosystems, the execution client is a critical part of the stack, and often the bottleneck. Modern clients like Reth have made progress, but weren’t designed for high-performance L1s and rollups aiming for sub-second finality and massive scale. Gravity Reth changes that.
Gravity Reth is a performance-engineered fork of Reth, re-architected for maximum throughput using reasonable hardware. Key innovations include: - Grevm DAG-based hybrid parallel EVM - 16-way Parallel Merklization - Gravity Cache for fast state access - Pipelined execution and optimized mempool
In ERC20 benchmarks, Gravity Reth sustains ~41,000 TPS and 2.96 gigagas per second on hybrid workloads. Merklization, once a major bottleneck, is now 6× faster, from 380ms to 62ms at 100k accounts. On identical hardware, it’s 4× faster than Reth 1.4.8.
Gravity Reth is fully open source, with key improvements already upstreamed to Reth. The first high-performance EVM execution layer builder can use, test, or build on today. Try it, give feedback, and help push the EVM forward:
