1/ What’s the latest with RNP-019, the community proposal that makes way for the new Render Compute Network?
As you may remember, RNP-019 was passed in April to create a new compute network for AI and general compute workloads.
More here:

2/ A few weeks ago we opened up the waitlist to recruit node operators. Nodes are needed in order to build a compute network.
3/ The minimum requirements for node operators are pretty specific so we’ve been sorting through waitlist submissions to find the most qualified nodes. They’ll help us test how the network is built and how it performs.
4/ Specifically for this test cohort we’re looking for nodes that: can work off Linux, can install Docker, and can make their machines available for extended periods as we test the network capabilities.
5/ Simultaneously, we’ve been building the backend of the network. That includes the API to onboard new customers as well as a payments infrastructure to ensure jobs are paid for.
6/ User documentation is being developed to make sure node operators as well as customers can get set up properly.
Testing is also critical, both for the compute capacity suppliers (i.e. node operators) and end users (i.e. customers). We’ll be onboarding the first few nodes soon.
7/ Building a new network from scratch is quite an undertaking and we’re working through multiple processes to get it up and running. We’ve got a few prospective customers waiting to start using the production environment as soon as we ship it.
8/ As we make progress on multiple fronts, we’ll share updates!
