we need a way to hold our gifts in non-custodial wallets and still be able to display them on our @telegram profiles, just like how it works with nft usernames and anonymous numbers.
some people are still skeptical about showcasing gifts directly from their telegram accounts because of the risks, like getting banned or hacked.
yes, everything carries risk, but in web3 most people prefer self-custody over trusting a centralized platform.
i’ve seen cases where people lost their gifts after their accounts got banned, and even after reaching out to telegram support, they got no reply (allegedly).
my account has never been banned, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. i try my best to follow all of telegram’s rules.
i believe once @telegram finds a way to integrate non-custodial support for gifts whilst still flexing it on telegram profile, it could attract more users from other ecosystems and drive serious volume on dexes. dex trading might even surpass off-chain marketplaces.
and when that happens, platforms like @opensea or @MagicEden might actually consider listing telegram gifts.
that would mark the beginning of the real bull run for telegram gifts.
until then, we’re still early.
