France’s 10-year yield reaching 5.14%, alongside a roughly 175 bp gap to Germany, says the strain is not simply a broad rise in global rates: German and US yields fell as investors sought safety.
That divergence puts fiscal credibility and political progress at the centre of the test. Wider bank-credit gauges warrant attention, but ratings decisions, budget talks and bank funding will show whether this remains a European stress point.
