1. Registering OKC wallet address
1.1 Download a wallet that supports OKC
-
To use Web3 wallet: visit https://www.okx.com/cn/web3 , download Web3 wallet, follow the instructions to create an account, and do not forget your login password and mnemonic phrases etc, also create backups.
-
To use Metamask: visit https://metamask.io/ , download Metamask, follow the instructions to create an account, and do not forget your login password and mnemonic phrases etc, also create backups.
-
Currently, TokenPocket, Bitkeep, ONTO and HyperPay already support OKC. For details, check the tutorials of each wallet's official website.
1.2 Configurating OKCs official network
The Web3 wallet is a multi-chained wallet that has already been configured with the OKC network by default, hence the user does not need to add it themselves.
If the user is using Metamask wallet, click on Ethereum's main site, select custom RPC in the drop-down menu; enter the following info below on the pop-up form:
Network name: OKC (can also customize)
New RPC URL: https://exchainrpc.okex.org
Chain ID: 66
Symbol: OKT
Blockchain browser URL: https://www.oklink.com/okc
2. About OKC: A Super Scalable, Compatible L1 Blockchain
OKC (OKX Chain) is an EVM-compatible L1 built on Cosmos with a focus on true
interoperability (IBC) and maximized performance. At high scalability, developers can build and
scale with low gas fees. The OKC ecosystem and infrastructure, including the all-in-one
multi-chain Web3 interface, enables a seamless experience for both developers and users.
Advantages of OKC:
-
High Scalability & Maximized Performance: Based on enhanced Tendermint and
Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus that can support up to 5000 Transactions
per Second (TPS), Web3 applications shall reach their full potential at extremely low
costs.
-
Enhanced Interoperability: OKC supports Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC)
protocol that — together with the Tendermint consensus algorithm, featuring instant
finality — can be used to realize value transmission between Cosmos ecosystem within
seconds. Being fully EVM compatible, OKC allows developers to build projects without
any learning costs.
-
Developer Friendly: OKC is completely open-source. Anyone can read it, view the
progress, comment on it, and help build the ecosystem. OKC also provides native
oracle protocol and subgraph service.
-
Secure: The OKC team offers a reliable smart contract auditing service, making it a
genuinely decentralized protocol that avoids the centralization risks of most blockchain
networks today.
