For me, the bigger story goes beyond another strong earnings report. SanDisk operates in a cyclical industry where high margins can attract more capacity and eventually put pressure on pricing.
Multi year contracts and AI driven demand provide some protection, but they do not eliminate that risk.
Tonight’s report is about the durability of SanDisk’s new economics.

With expectations already sitting near the upper end of that range, simply delivering strong numbers may not be enough to satisfy the market.
Investors will be looking closely at data center demand, pricing strength, supply conditions and, above all, what management says about the quarters ahead.
After such an extraordinary rally from its post spin off lows, followed by a recent pullback, the margin for disappointment is getting smaller.
