Restaking expands the potential uses of staked Ethereum assets, but it also creates additional layers of responsibility. EigenLayer's broader model allows external services to use crypto-economic security, making operator reliability and slashing design central considerations. Adoption should not be judged only by the amount of capital committed. The more important question is whether real services can use this security model safely and sustainably.
