$AVAX C-Chain burned 1,732 AVAX in fees on Oct 1. Stakers were distributed 72,837 AVAX that day, ~42x more. Validators get zero fees, since all of it’s burned, so staking pay is pure issuance and the burn is just an offset. Helicon now lets validators vote the gas floor, and they raised it from 1 wei to 5 nAVAX. Oct 4’s burn still fell to 693 AVAX, a post-upgrade low. Feels like a nudge, not a fix. The reward curve is the bigger lever, being recalibrated over 90 days.
