Solana’s planned Alpenglow launch puts finality at the center of the discussion. A move from roughly 12.8 seconds to 150ms could matter for trading and settlement where waiting changes execution quality.
The proposal is compelling, but the decisive evidence will be mainnet behavior: whether lower validator voting costs and offchain voting preserve resilience under real demand.
